CardioLab seeks to inform adults about the risk of cardio-cerebrovascular diseases.
The project began in 2003, with a commitment to the general prevention of diseases such as heart attacks and strokes, which are the leading cause of death in the Western world, totaling 4 million deaths each year in Europe and 250,000 in Italy alone.
Workers in the health care sector, family doctors, specialists, communications experts, local administrators, and representatives for those individuals who suffer from these such diseases, are all involved in the project.
The initiative consists of a mobile outpatient clinic, equipped with facilities that rapidly measure blood glucose concentration, cholesterol, and arterial pressure, and provides free check-ups to identify individual risk for potential cardiovascular episodes.
